CEASA-RJ
O alimento que nasce no campo percorre um longo caminho até chegar à mesa da população fluminense, e a CEASA-RJ está presente nesse processo. Além de funcionar como único entreposto comercial público em todo o Estado, a Centrais de Abastecimento do Estado do Rio de Janeiro CEASA-RJ é uma empresa vinculada à Secretaria de Estado de Agricultura, Pecuária, Pesca e Abastecimento. A Unidade Grande Rio, localizada em Irajá, na Zona Norte da cidade, é a segunda maior Central de Abastecimento da América Latina.
Na série CEASA, acompanhei junto com meu pai, que trabalha diretamente com o comércio de cestas básicas, a chegada dos alimentos pelos caminhoneiros até aos mercados locais, documentando os trabalhadores que de forma anônima, atuam diretamente com seus corpos em um trabalho contínuo no abastecimento da cidade.
eng: Em maio de 2018, o país presenciou a greve dos caminhoneiros, e a Central sentiu diretamente o reflexo dos protestos quando o preço dos alimentos duplicou e a população se encontrou com a escassez momentânea de alimentos.
The food that grows in the field goes a long way until it reaches the table of the population of Rio de Janeiro, and CEASA-RJ is present in this process. In addition to operating as the only public commercial warehouse in the State, the State of Rio de Janeiro CEASA-RJ is a company linked to the State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food Supply. The Grande Rio Unit, located in Irajá, in the North Zone of the city, is the second largest Supply Center in Latin America.
In the CEASA series, I accompanied my father, who works directly with the trade of food baskets, to the arrival of food by truck drivers to the local markets, documenting workers who anonymously work directly with their bodies in a continuous supply of the city.
In May 2018, the country witnessed the truck drivers' strike, and the Central felt directly the reflex of the protests when the price of food doubled and the population was faced with a temporary shortage of food.
